Today marks the beginning of WhimsicalWitchStudios. Follow me over the coming months and years while I learn about gaming development from scratch with the goal of one day publishing my very own indie title. There will be witches and toads and trolls and fairies; a broomstick to mend; spells to learn and potions to craft; and curses for the more maniacally inclined. I want to include shapeshifting and spirit dancing, and a character who ages as the years pass her by.

First, however, I need to learn. This is a big project that, no doubt, will become bigger with each day that passes. Perhaps though, one day, I’ll be able to look back at this day and see how far I’ve come. So I’m telling myself that it’s shortly after midnight on the 26th of March, 2024. I’ve owned the laptop I’m writing this on (Asus ROG Strix G16) for under four hours, and I’m making a promise to myself to see this project through. Someone who is not me will, one day, have at least an hour of content I’ve created to play through.

I’m writing a novel too, of course. Which, I wonder, is the easier project?
